During our Christmas stay, we appreciated the cozy atmosphere and the comfort of the beds. the view overlooking the lake was breathtaking and the outdoor onsen was just what we needed after a long day of travel. We also liked the fact that we were surrounded by nature and could see various animals playing around.
We had some communication problems with the staff, as they did not speak English very well. This made ordering food and asking for directions quite difficult.

This hotel was a hidden gem in a beautiful location surrounded by stunning gardens and overlooking a lake. The historic building was attractively styled with excellent décor. The meals were tastefully prepared and served with both Japanese and Western dishes, and the staff spoke excellent English and were very welcoming.
At first, it was hard to find the hotel and we had to rely on Google maps. There were also very few signs and only in Japanese.

The hotel boasts a beautiful garden with a view of the lake, adding to the cozy and homey atmosphere. the food is highly recommended, with a mix of Western and Japanese style dishes that are both delicious and artfully presented. Guests can relax in the outdoor onsen after a long day and enjoy the spacious and well-designed room with Japanese antique decor. language barriers might cause confusion when ordering meals.
